Even if I didn't place or get in the best of pics, I really liked being in this contest. I enjoyed making my entry, for both this and the outfit contest, and I loved seeing all of the creative ideas and interacting with some of the other artists. I'm glad I did this, and I congratulate all of the winners.

Speaking of your post, though. I didn't realize it until now, but the guy's Demon Form looks quite similar to Goliath from Gargoyles.

I think the change to the "Sexiest Outfit" judging criteria is unfair. It's great you want to involve the community to choose a winner but changing the rules at the end is rough. I respect your and the judges decision and I'm not asking you to change it. I just want to suggest that next time you make a "People's Choice" category.

Congrats to the winners of the concept contest, I like how the conclusion for it wasn't just about the 4 winning entries, and how we got to see many other interpretations of love. Looking forward to the results of the next contest.

@CIEIRMusic Yeah, that's because he is a Gargoyle. He's not a demon. I wanted to create a cool creature design and I didn't want to make a beast/monster. For some reason a Gargoyle really clicked for me and I really liked the idea of a creature like that as historically Gargoyles could be designed around anything, lions, goblins, demons, etc. and I think it helped give him a bit of mystery of what his gargoyle form is. It is still human looking, but it also has some beastly parts like claw-like hands and bat wings.
But most importantly, not a demon. Demons to me are pure monsters and evil, and I never had that mindset with drawing Atticus.
I'm gonna need to post more pics of both him and the girl here more often...

I'm disappointed that the outfit contest is left to the community and reactions. If I had known that was how it would be judged, I wouldn't have used anthro characters. There's always a big chunk of people who hate on anthro art. Plus it gives a huge advantage to people who finished earlier.
Ive been through the thread and have seen drawings with 20+ votes in the later pages.
I really dislike pandering, but Im just upset because I know some drawings arent going to win if left up to my discretion, and yet they have a solid chance if the community were to vote.
Everyone's shitting on the idea of a community vote, but Newgrounds is a community-driven site. I want to discourage pandering, and I also want to support originality. Im stuck at an impasse because entrants are going to be upset no matter what I do ^^;
I might trash this idea altogether, or make an abridged version where I choose the top 10 or 20. Im not doing this with ill-intent, and everyone's giving harsh speculation. You guys might be right, but you might be wrong. Have some faith, people ^^;
If someone told me 95% of people that posted to the Secret Santa were going to do it, then I wouldve told them there was no way, but the community pulled through. I believe I can trust the community, and if they prove me wrong, then I know this was a bad idea, but that's on me.
Everyone gets heated when there's prize money involved, so this reaction was to be expected ^^;
Yeah I gotta agree with Ace above me, not real stoked to find the outfit contest has become a popularity contest. The best artists with the biggest following are just gonna win now, forget how original the outfit is. If the original reactions are anything to go by, that means I'm out of the race :[
Have to agree with the others who have commented on this. I drew my entry for sexiest outfit without pandering because I didn't think it would matter, but with a community vote, the win is gonna go to the sexiest, most well drawn, bustiest woman character, rather than the outfit itself.
Oh, I sound very bitter in that comment. Sorry, Im not angry, just a little disappointed due to the large difference in judgement between a judge and the public. before i forget: Congrats to all the winners of Concept of love, and good luck to all the entrants of sexiest outfit! And thank you @xinxinix for hosting these contests! it has been the first contest ive participated in on here, and it was really fun to participate :)
he also didn't said that it was "vent art contest" isted "concept of love contest" the post lyteraly said -Anything related to love or its concepts and idk but suffering and torture is not what it comes to mind.
The post also had a very cute and lovely banner meaning that it was intending that the drawing shoud be cute and lovely as well.
lol, this person really changed the rules after the contest had concluded. I agree with everyone not happy with the change. I've never seen a contest change it's criteria after everyone submitted.
