GOOSEBUMPS. SLIGHT TEARS. (I'm literally not joking)

The way I feel when listening to a song with a consistent dark theme abridged by deep, futuristic, distorted bass that bumps at a good tempo all while increasing the fundamental mysterious undertone that's slowly (but surely) building into an orchestra with a clear objective... is honestly so appealing that it's hard to place where in my childhood I became enamored by confrontational, immersive music.

You really can't have my love enough. For this song alone, I would love to donate to you to help with your future endeavors. Where is the best place to go on your profile to do that? (I see bandcamp is an option?)

Kysertron responds:

The best place to go for donations is Bandcamp. Speaking of which, this EP will be available on March 10.

I agree that there's a subtle background hint within the small keys and uppity mood that it feels like something (or someone) is trying to break free. The most enjoyable feature for me is the spacy, dancy feeling I get from the classic funky beat. It's entirely enhanced by those small, persistent echoing keys that reverberate throughout the background at key moments.

Altogether a very jazzy, synth-y song that works well melodically to create a song about subtle expressionism and freedom, all while being consistently (although slightly) funky.

LordAndiso responds:

Thank you! :D i try not to go jazzy, but it somehow gets jazzy xD.... my main focus is not to make those lifeless 4 chord songs, like, they're everywhere!

The upbeat tone and constant surge of electronic keys has a way of boosting the overall vitality of this song. It's cyberpunk-ish, radical, and very catchy. It also helps that I thoroughly enjoy VA-11 HallA Cyberpunk Bartender's OST.

I like this song a lot. It has many clever breakdowns and a great sense of tempo <3

DaveSlayer responds:

Oh wow, thanks a bunch! Glad you like it!

Ohhhh yesssss~!

The PURE MAINLINED NOSTALGIA that I just inhaled from your guys's podcast felt so good that I'm prepared to play Mastermind: World Conqueror until my alarm clock goes off.

Really enjoying the talk about the Newgrounds's previously popular trends (I would've guessed Weebl for The Ultimate Showdown) and listening to you guys talk about my favorite videos from way-back-when is seriously impressive. The guys who made content for Newgrounds during its golden era really were pioneers worthy of discussion. Just the mere mention of the greats who made this place what it is has me wanting to dive deep into their profiles and rediscover my love for all things Newgrounds.

BridgeofFaust deserved a mention for his great upload schedule and original artworks. Your podcast is a wonderful venue for casting a light on creators who still make content regardless of not garnering the attention it deserves. MeatCanyon has become an easy favorite of mine since I first wandered into his Pinocchio animation, and he's been consistently uploading satirical content into the portal.

I appreciate you guys for continuing to make Newgrounds a place that cares about its creators and the content they produce. Seems like Tom is always ready to announce a new update or host another meaningful contest, and they deserve coverage from people who know what Newgrounds represents.

Thanks guys! Can't wait for the next one~! :)

Spooky :3

But mostly funky

But also bizarre

That improv tho <3
That awkward moment(s) tho <3
That banjo tho <3
That inconsistent community mic quality tho <3

i fucking love this.

A really goovy, spacy listen.

johnfn responds:

Thanks! Funny you say it's "goovy" as I normally write a lot of groovy music but I didn't think this one was particularly groovy. I guess it's just part of my style now.

Well, this was fucking great.

Definitely showcased your humor and your mic is crispy as fuck.

Good luck out there!

It's really cool how calm and easygoing this track is.

The peacefulness of the ambient bird noises and chimes compliment the gentle piano as the piano takes a generous amount of time to play its slow song.

Ending on an increasingly uplifting tone, the song shows it's true colors at the end. They are colors of remembrance and significance, which I only wished propagated a while longer or managed to find a place alongside the birds and the chimes and the wind.

I love it (-:

thanks for the thoughts man this was exactly what i was going for! :)

Puts me in a fun mood.

It got on Top 5 because it's a good song! I really like the rythm and mood of this. :D
