It's been a while, huh?
I've been up to a lot, but for right now, we're gonna have to focus on this here really kewl event my friend, and assistant (and self-proclaimed "xintern") @sereneFalconer came up with because she didn't have the chance to experience it in real life during her classes 'n' such.
NG SLAM POETRY NIGHT

What is Slam Poetry ? Well, it's actually called a "Poetry Slam" but I'm here to inconveniently promote the misnomer of the event because it's funnier that way (and I already paid for the promotional art LOL)
According to Wikipedia, a Poetry Slam is:
"...a competitive art event in which poets perform spoken word poetry before a live audience and a panel of judges. While formats can vary, slams are often loud and lively, with audience participation, cheering and dramatic delivery."
So, unfortunately, YOU WILL BE JUDGED !!!! (by a panel of mostly sexy and [mostly] competent judges!!!)
INTRODUCING !!! *drum roll*
@Droid - [unfortunately had to drop out due to schedule constraints]
@VoicesByCorey - Father, Newgrounder, and all-around genuine role model. As a prominent (and proficient) voice actor, Corey LeVier will be able to analytically break down your tone and rate the delivery of your spoken word poetry.
@Aalasteir - Podcaster, interviewer, and fellow newgrounds enthusiast. Aalasteir is not only qualified to measure the threat level of incoming meteor strikes, but he also knows a thing or two about interviewing people about their passions, so he'll be able to gauge as to what level of heart you put into your poetry.
@sereneFalconer - Literally here because she's a passionate individual. Piper knows a thing or two about enjoying other's creativity (confirmed by yours truly) and you are in good hands as she rubs her collective braincells together to output a thoughtful sentence to determine your scoring fate.
@Xinxinix - Bald.
With this we have five (mostly) capable judges to rank your poetry based on a scoring system of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest. At the end of the event, we will average the scores and determine a winner based on that.
JUDGING CRITERIA:
Writing - Your word use; did you use your words well? Was your poetry refined by a personal etiquette and touch that clearly pervades the entirety of your performance based on your decision and coupling with specific word usage?
Performance - How well did you convey the emotion (supposedly) present in your poetry? Did you hold yourself back too much? Did you let it all go? I guarantee we'll be moved if you finish your poetry without any regrets--if you leave it all on stage without looking back...
Style - This category is an overall grouping for the vague idea of how well the combination of your writing and performance worked together. Basically, how well the passion you directed was mixed into the wording of your poetry.

On Discord in the "Art Talks" prototype server [JOIN HERE]
HOW TO SIGN UP:
We will only be accepting 20 APPLICANTS. Your application poem does not have to be the poem you're necessarily performing. We're testing the enthusiasm and aptitude of potential participants by gauging minimal ability.
Application deadline is January 20th.
You will be performing in front of a live audience on Discord during the day of the event.
PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS:
- Newgrounds account
- Discord account
- microphone
- a poem
- your performance must be less than 3 minutes and must be performed live in front of a Discord audience
PARTICIPANT RESTRICTIONS:
- Absolutely no hate speech when performing
- No excessive NSFW
- No targeting others unfairly (or bullying)
- You do NOT have to use the poem you submitted when signing up
- 3 minute time limit (you will be cut off at the 3 minute mark)
This event will be moving fast and it's important that we finish on time. Given that, we will be cutting off mics at exactly 3 minutes, which leaves 2 minutes for judging and hearing from the audience quickly before moving onto the next performance.

- 2hrs 40min performing and judging
- 20min choosing a winner and wrapping up

What is TCL3K?
It's an acronym for the new podcasting platform I'd like to start.
What's with the stickers?
TCL3K's purpose is the same as it was with NGP's presence: give artists, creators, and newgrounders opportunities to collaborate and fund purposes beyond our typical, individual means. Through bulk purchases and artist interest, TCL3K brings more purpose, importance, and practicality to NG artists working together for things they otherwise wouldn't be able to.
Meet the artists!
@MindChamber - A Newgrounds OG. Being an independent artist, Jose Ortiz collaborates with the purpose of creating some "gangsta" art for any fun opportunities while working on their own, personal merchandising as well.
@MKMaffo - Too obviously cool for literally any of us. Mafalda collaborates simply because she's an epic artist that's always down to participate in something fun and newgrounds related--she's one of the cool kids~
@Abstract - A young artist from Brazil without the means to sell or ship internationally (Brazil be messed up bro) and with an art style that pops heavily with saturated colors and soft line art dynamics.
Collaboration is the soul, heart, and root of newgrounds. It's an expression of love and fulfillment through actual, tangible work (think of the fanzine that birthed NG itself) and I believe (and always have) that NG is the greatest place on the internet for genuine community presence.
We spend most of our days alone, independent, and trying to work on our own projects... but I feel like everyone remembers their first moment of collaboration. I can almost certainly say that @TomFulp themselves would remember the first time someone reached out to them to get the NG fanzine--their very first collaborative project through an independent creation being asked for and wanted by another individual. Or even the first time Tom had to work with someone to make NG bigger, and better...
What I'm getting at is: this is it. This is collaboration. This is NG in a nutshell--giving people a reason to make something, make anything, and making it stronger in spirit through involving others and growing in opportunity as demand and reputation increases.
It's insanity to believe that we're more capable alone than we are with others, and hopefully TCL3K will be a representation of what it means when creatives decide to work together instead of being separated...
